How to Make Wintergreen Candy
Ingredients
- 1 cup golden syrup
- a pinch of cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon wintergreen extract
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- a few drops of red food coloring
Instructions
- Add the golden syrup, sugar, and water to a saucepan. Stir while heating until the sugar is dissolved. Add cream of tartar and allow the mixture to reach 250°. Finally stir in the wintergreen extract and food coloring.
- Pour the mixture on a greased surface. Allow the candy to cool enough to handle.
- Pull candy until it is yellow in color. Roll out and cut into sticks. Wrap each stick in wax paper.
