How to Make Sugar Rock Candy

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Royal icing
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Put the cream of tartar, sugar, and water in a saucepan. Stir. Heat until the mixture reaches 300°.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the Royal icing and vanilla.
  3. Pour mixture into a pan. Break candy into pieces once it cools.
