How to Make Popcorn Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • a pinch of cream of tartar
  • 5 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups popcorn
  • 5 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Add the cream of tartar, molasses, sugar, and water to a saucepan. Heat until the mixture reaches 250°.
  2. Remove saucepan from heat and add the butter and vanilla. Stir until they are dissolved in the syrup.
  3. Add the popcorn. Stir until the syrup completely coats the popcorn. Pour mixture into greased pans.
  4. Allow mixture to cool in pans. Shape into balls once the mixture has cooled enough to handle.
