How to Make Molasses Coconut Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 5 cups shredded coconut
  • 1 pound vanilla flavored fondant

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine corn syrup, molasses, sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches 254 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Remove from heat. Add coconut and fondant; blend well.
  3. Pour mixture into a greased baking pan. Allow to cool. Dust with granulated sugar; cut into squares.
