How to Make Lemon Drops

Ingredients

  • 5 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon extract
  • 2 drops yellow food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil over medium heat. Add cream of tartar; boil to 305 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Remove from heat. Add lemon extract and food coloring; stir until well blended. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper or into molds. Allow to cool and harden.
