How to Make Lemon Candy
Ingredients
- 7 cups sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon lemon extract
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, water and cream of tartar. Boil over medium heat until mixture reaches 305 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat. Add lemon extract; blend into mixture.
- Pour into a shallow, greased baking sheet. Allow to cool and then break into pieces.
- Optional: Lightly coat candy with powdered sugar on both sides after cooling.
