How to Make Lemon Candy

Ingredients

  • 7 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, water and cream of tartar. Boil over medium heat until mixture reaches 305 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Remove from heat. Add lemon extract; blend into mixture.
  3. Pour into a shallow, greased baking sheet. Allow to cool and then break into pieces.
  4. Optional: Lightly coat candy with powdered sugar on both sides after cooling.
