How to Make Honey Nougat
Ingredients
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup hot water
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1 egg white, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups nuts of your choice
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, boil sugar, water and honey until mixture reaches 270 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat. Add the beaten egg white and blend in briskly with a fork. Add nuts and beat mixture until it thickens.
- Pour mixture into a greased pan. Allow to cool and cut into squares.
