How to Make Butter Caramels

Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches 240 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla until well blended. Pour into a greased pan. Allow to cool; cut into squares.
